You took a piece of me when you left for the warmer winters. Out of the cuckoo’s nest you flew just to keep me up at night. So float on, back to me, makeshift raft, overseas, and as it’s air is draining out, keep on swimming free. No such ocean between us can leave the tides this turned. So now with oceans perturbed, the winds you feel will resonate my folly. It’s like the seas unite us when we speak through the winding waves. Only tides decide when we say goodnight. We’ve got to roam this globe a thousand times, yet we never cross paths, how could this be?

Let’s break the ice, we’ll move things around. Let’s break down the shyness. We’ll move towards the bed before it gets dark out. In darkness we’ll speak about all the things that never got moving. But before it starts, the time inches late, “I think I should go now”. You show up late to say goodnight, you’re acting as if everything is alright. But close the door, because I don’t want to see you. You show up late just to say goodnight, it’s getting harder and harder to find another reason to keep you around. This ritual is getting old.

But it’s hard enough to breathe without your presence there, inside of me. Cause the way you move ensures that I’m okay, so let’s explore this fire. I don’t think I’ve ever felt the way she made me feel today, I can hardly explain it and I know it’s exaggeration, but come on, just use a little imagination. So let’s just meet beneath the clouds, watching rain drops feeling proud as they touch your face so softly. We’ll dim the lights just right, relying on our faces bright, to guide my patient love to yours. So let’s just kill the lights until we recognize our feelings can be still. And until the works complete, I’ll cease my ability to breathe. Just breathe.
